2021 Nissan Datsun Nationals

The 2021 Nissan Datsun Nationals were held for the first time in South Australia and hosted by the Nissan Datsun Car Club of SA.

Events included Show n Shine, Cruises, Quiz Night, Presentation Dinner with Jim Richards and a track day at The Bend Motorsport Park.

Track Day, Quiz Night, Cruise, Show n Shine, Presentation Dinner.

The highlight of the weekend was no doubt the MADDAT Motorsport Super Sprint track day at The Bend Motorsport Park on Sunday. Over 60 cars took to the track and everyone went home with a straight car! A few found the limits of their car (or themselves!) and a few have a couple of issues to sort out but everyone left with a smile on their face.

More than 100 cars cruised some of Australia’s best driving road with a visit to the National Motor Museum at Birdwood, some took the long and winding road while others took a more direct route to spend more time at the museum. Some made their own route……

Friday Quiz Night with Quizmaster Brentyn Wakefield saw eight tables fight it out for supremacy with the final result ending in a tie - only broken by a rock paper scissors showdown. Very dramatic.

Saturday was show day and 244 cars arrived at Serafino for the event - absolutely massive.

The premiere event “Legends after Dark” presentation dinner brought motorsport legend Jim Richards and Supercar star Todd Hazelwood onto the stage for a fantastic sharing of stories and handing out of the show trophies.

The event wrapped with food and drinks at The Bend, tall stories and racing trophies.

A Biannual Affair

2021 Nissan Datsun Nationals - Heading south for the first time. 

The Nissan Datsun Nationals only come around every two years and each year a local club takes on the event hosting so each nationals has a distinctly local flavour. In 2021 the nationals headed to South Australia for the first time and we hope we made it worth the trip.

Entrants came from as far as WA and QLD with a strong contingent from NSW and VIC. The SA locals also came out in force bumping attendance numbers above our expectations.
